NaNoWriMo

So, I’m particpating in NaNoWriMo for the first time ever and it seems promising-but maybe that’s because I  started at 12 this morning-and I hope that I can conitue on the path of writing 50k words in a month. I have never been able to and my longest book now only has 34k, which took me a year to develop.

My goal is to do at least 1500 words a day and try to ignore the editing process because that’s what sort of hindered my word count in the beginning. So far I have 850 words for today. I hope that I can continue my writing spree without any distractions from outside influences, which is really gonna put a damper on my social life. :(

But I digress. The only things that I’m planning to do outside of writing is schoolwork, eating Thanksgiving dinner, see Harry Potter at midnight on the 1th, and go to Dave & Buster’s for my friend’s going away party. All my friends have been informed that I won’t be participating in extracurricular activities with them as much as I used to even though they don’t understand why. But they know that this is something I want to do.

I need to be encouraged. I need to feel the rush of getting things done without trying to go back and edit until December. Are there any suggestions on how I can do this?

Tumblr Apology

I wanted to apologize to my followers for not posting anything new on my stories or life in general for the past few days. I was recently the victim of a robbery and the thieves stole all of my electronics except for a few because I had them with me. My brand new Touch computer is gone, my flatscreen tv, etc. I’m just thankful that nobody was at home because if it had been a monday or wednesday, I would have been in the house alone and sleep when they came in. When my grandmother walked in the house, there was still a guy inside and I’m TRULY thankful that he decided to break the back window and jump rather than try to get through the front where my grandmother was. That was a blessing and everything that was taken can be replaced even if it takes a while; my family is irreplaceable.

In other happier news, today is my 20th birthday and I don’t know how to spend it. Any suggestions?

AARRGGHH!!!

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m frustrated. (lol) My Visual Arts teacher is a little on the loopy side.

Last week, she made a last minute project and didn’t tell us when it’s due, for one. The project is based off this guy named Rev. Howard Finster (I think that’s his name) who thought that he was getting messages from God to create works of art. He made sculptures and paintings and wrote Bible verses on them that had to do with the work. He also had his own little sayings about the certain things he drew that he wrote alng the sides. She liked his stuff, but I thought the man was schitzo. smh :(

But the point of the project was to make an artwork based on either your beliefs, a product you love, or a person that you’re obessed with and incorporate text into it. Sounds easy enough right? WRONG. She wants it 18x24 made out of like cardboard, mirrors, old furniture, and any other types of foolishness you can find.  :(

So based off what I thought the project was about, I decided to make an omage to my stories in giant book form out of cardboard and sheets of paper. I thought to do this because: 1. I LOOOOOVVVVE BOOKS; 2. I LLLLLLLOOOOOOOVVVEEEE BBOOOKKKSS; 3. It would be fun to create different aspects of my book and plaster them for the world to see; 4. It seemed like it would be easy.

But now I have to learn how to draw wolves and thrones etc. And it’s driving me nuts!!! Why isn’t it easy? Why does it have to be so hard? Do any of you have any suggestions on how to relieve the stress level I have thrown myself into?

Shadow Rose: A Dark Nature Novel

“He licked my blood off of his palm and exposed my neck,” Death had a cruel sense of humor…

Rebecca James is just your average 19-year old college student. A girl who never dabbled in the “abnormal.” Everything changes when an informal commune with nature, causes a bizarre tattoo to appear out of nowhere and a mysterious stranger named Philip stalks her in the night. It’s not long before Rebecca falls for him and she becomes the very center of his world. But Philip has a secret. He used to be a high ranking vampire in the dark council called Legion and he’s on the run. But because of love, he won’t dare leave Rebecca’s side when the hordes come. Now Rebecca has a choice: love and virtue or death.

Striker: The Night Guardians

Demons are filthy nasty creatures and I’m going to kill them all,

Demon hunting is easy. Trying to keep your family and friends safe from demons while running your own entertainment biz is the tough part. And 18 year old Johnny Striker knows just how tough that is. And the fact that he’s hell bent on trying to find the ones who had his parents killed by were-demon assassins isn’t helping the situation either. Luckily, he’s not alone in his quest. He, his sister Amanda, and his four friends have vowed to keep all humans safe—at least in their city. To help, Johnny’s been gifted with the ability to see through demonic glamours and even walls on occasion. But his gift is also his curse, all demons know about it and they want him dead. With the entire underworld gunning for him, how will he keep his family safe now?

"Writing is the only occupation where one can be a pacifist, a war monger, an activist, a traveler, a circus clown, a president, a deity, an astronaut, a lion-tamer, an adventurer, a barbarian, an adulterer, a liar, a thief, a murderer, and still go to bed with a clear conscience."
